New Boy 587 – This was a chord progression Rik brought up and it just came together. Everyone was really excited after the first time running through the song. After a jam or two the keyboard lick was found, the bassline was done and then the drums just fell into place. From there it was just figuring out the dynamics and really letting the song push that energy. Allowing it to swell up and down. The vocals came a few months later after we had recorded it. The melody for the most part was there but as far as putting actual words in place that hadn’t been done yet. Once we heard them it was a wrap.

Lyrics
Form a wedge on this steep island today
Time remain far from you,
would you take the truth
I would say
to you wander on the open air
Barbara, take your life on the run
You were raised
in the west and in their way
For the day
for the land we take
From the other side you beast
you would shake the trees
Barbara, set your sail on the sun
Set your sail on the sun
Set your sail on the sun
Set your sail on the sun
Take your life on the run
Set your sail.......
On the sun
On the sun
On the sun
On the sun
